Biographical Info and Explanation for Running:
As residents for over eleven years, my wife and I have had the privilege of serving you in various capacities throughout the City, including my tenure as Mayor Pro-Tem and City Councilman and Doreen's current office of President of the local Rotary Club.  I have worked for Guardian Industries for over ten years and bring my experience in the information technology, engineering, and management sectors.

I am running for Mayor because I believe that we need a leader that can get Clawson moving forward again.  We need to regain the momentum lost by the current administration's inability to deliver leadership, effective communication, and strategic vision.  I would leverage the current economic environment to differentiate, improve, and market ourselves to new property owners.  In short, lets not let a good crisis go to waste!

Top 3 Issues and How to Resolve:
“Sunlight is the best disinfectant,” refers to the benefits of openness and transparency.  As your Mayor, I would shape Clawson into a respected and credible organization that operates in complete openness.

Our residents deserve a city they can take pride in; It is key in Clawson's competition for homeowners.  To succeed in our downtown I would further streamline the processes involved with a opening and expanding business.  Furthermore, I would aggressively address blight throughout Clawson and market ourselves as both business and homeowner ready.

In today's financial reality,  stong economic policy is crucial.  I would change our budgeting processes to forecast out three years instead of one.  This allows us to be proactive instead of reactive in our financial decisions.  I would also move to an activity based costing model so that we can discuss the true cost of government and how it best serves its constituents.
